Sam Wins at Schladming!
Islandia , NY – June 14, 2005 - The Iron Horse/Mad Catz Team just returned to North America after a successful trip to Germany and Austria for Rounds 2 and 3 of the UCI World Cup Series. Following the third of eight events on the World Cup schedule, team rider Sam Hill sits in 2 nd Place overall in series standings, only 50 points out of the lead!

Willingen, Germany - A combination of a short, man-made course and rain provided for exciting racing. The course featured many large jumps that claimed several riders. Team rider Sam Hill finished a strong 5 th place in the sloppy conditions, bumping him into 2 nd place overall in the series. Justin Havukainen placed 25 th. Scarlett Hagen did not race the final after crashing hard in the qualifier and making a precautionary trip to the hospital; all is well, and she lives to races another day!

Schladming , Austria – Before departing for Europe, Sam Hill vowed to bring back his first World Cup win. At Schladming, Sam fulfilled his promise and claimed his first World Cup DH victory in convincing fashion with an 8.17 second differential over fellow Aussie Chris Kovarik.

On board his dw-link Iron Horse Sunday World Cup model bike, Sam qualified in 1 st place position on the steep, off camber course known for its difficulty. By qualifying first Sam had to run last in the start order. With approximately 15 riders left to run, rain started to fall turning the already difficult course slick and muddy. At the split, Sam was almost 6 seconds faster than the next fastest rider!

In addition to Sam’s win, team rider Justin Havukainen finished 22 nd and now is ranked 24th overall in the series. Scarlett Hagen placed 7 th and is 13 th overall.

With his win in Austria, Sam bridged much of the gap between him and Greg Minnaar, who sits in 1 st place overall in the series. The team has a week off from racing action and then heads to Mont Saint Anne, Quebec, then off to Brazil, and lastly to Angelfire, New Mexico for three straight weeks of World Cup racing.
